Ending my question of research unit, I summed up my main points of research into a presentation to communicate clearly what I had done. I thought I would share a few slides on here for you to see.
I found the presentation a bit nerve-wracking but I think it was an effective way to explain my research to others and I'm glad I it was part of the unit. Public speaking has always been difficult for me so the presentation was a good way for me to practice.
In this slide I spoke about how question confused me at first so I picked out the key words to focus on.
In this slide I mainly talked about how visual stress effects my research methodology and how I've changed it through this unit. I always struggled with reading and writing and now I know why as visual stress means my brain struggles to process the light contrast of black text on white paper (which is why I made my slides a blue/grey colour.) I also included an example of how people with visual stress sometimes see text so the audience could understand why I chose mainly practitioner research.
In this slide I spoke about my interview with Peter Driver which I included in one of my previous blog posts. One quote from him backed up my point about practitioner research quite nicely.
In this slide I spoke about a new research method that I've just started for my major project, collaborative research. I got people involved with my work by getting them to draw their ideas of mermaids. This is an ongoing at the moment to help me come up with ideas for my own mermaid character.
My final slide spoke about how in conclusion, I think I need both digital and traditional technology in order to develop creativity in relation to my practice.
